MH: Nightmare of a White Lady by Fly-Sky-High MH: Nightmare of a White Lady by Fly-Sky-High
Halloween task entry for :iconmugen-high: with Aya and Suna

After asking Jazz (the fairy) for help with their costumes, Aya and Suna were pleased with the final results and the theme that went with the costume.

but... things went a bit more creative when Jazz was taking a picture of the two...

Originally, Aya was suppose to be a ghost, which she still is but apparently, she resembled a lot the legend about White Lady (mentioned to me by ~VainNostenos heh) so I went along with the idea.

The two were suppose to go together, following the theme of a girl who died in a tragic death (murder), resulting in her Dream Creature to form into Nightmare Beast.

-Dream Creature VS Nightmare Beast:

They are practically the same creature but in different stage of form.

Every human has their of Dream Creature (or dream guardian) who tend to take different shapes and forms in their owners dreams. They feed off dreams of the owners every once in a while so they can stay alive.

Imagine an owner making a close bound with her dream creature. Then one day, she is struck by a tragic death. Shot on sight by a burglar perhaps.

The Dream Creature is still alive but only for so long, since she needs to feed off dreams of an owner. She morns her owners death. She has 2 choices: To wait peacefully to pass away as well or... take a more free form of Nightmare Creature and avenger her owner.

Nightmare Creatures tend to wear skull like masks to appear scary. Why? So they can succeed in their mission of finding the one responsible for owners death, scare them in their dreams until they go insane and paranoid and feed off their fear and nightmares, until murderer dies from insanity.

Once murderer is dead, Nightmare Creature again gets two choices: To die of starvation, peacefully knowing they avenged their owner, or... continue to feed off humans fears and nightmares. If they are eager to taste more of it, the more of a beast they will become...

A lot of Hellhounds originated this way...

I was going to make a comic about this, as Aya telling a scary story but I'm really out of time for something that long... because this pic was taking too long... *head desk*

Well, I'm mostly happy with results, personally. I hope I haven't over exaggerated with this...

PS: In the future, I will probably explain how Suna's mouth/jaws work. If you know what a Thylacine is you might understand it a bit.

PSS: The idea for Aya's pose is taken from posemaniac site.

Suna: Are you ready to go to this party!? >:U
Aya: I-I guess... <_>;
Suna: *jumps ahead* Let's go!
Aya: *sweatdrop*

I almost thought this was Rukia from Bleach for some weird reason...

Aya's first design looked a lot like Rukia actually (even though I didn't know about Bleach yet back then) so I tend to get that often XD not so much with new design but yeah, I can see why

Dream creature and thanks~ :D I tried a new way of cell shading on fur but didn't turn out as well as I hoped. Even so, it seems kind of near and more furry like, I just need to practice it. ^^

Garh! The detail... too much... :faint:

I really like the atmosphere of this one and characters fitting in it. Not tomention the blood stain looks really realistic. =)

Is the background hand made as well?
